Setting workspace coordinates using calibration plate is not working in Linux version of EnsensoSDK

General Information

Problem / Question

When i try to use the nxView software in Linux to set the coordinate of the Ensenso camera using the calibration plate, the software either doesn’t detect the plate or is too much laggy or sometimes it fairly detects but it and is very unstable to lock it. Essentially I’m unable to set the origin of the camera using the calibration plate in linux. I’m not facing any such issues with Windows though.

Currently the work around I’m trying to do is to set the coordinate of the camera in my workspace in windows and save it in eeprom and the move to my linux system.

Could you please provide a permanent solution for the same.

Hello,

I checked the functionality of an S-10 in NxView with SDK version 4.2.1821 on Linux and faced no issues.

Are you using a dual boot or is the Linux system on a different machine? What you described sounded like insufficient processing power on the host PC. Please have a look at the System Requirements page on our manual.

Bernhard

Hi @amma,

could you maybe press Ctrl+S in NxView to save some images when the pattern collection failed? Once on Windows, and then on Linux? With the raw images we could better judge the differences and maybe figure out where the difference is.

Best regards, Rainer

I have the nxView installed in Linux system which is on Dual booth with Windows.

In that case, the hardware should not be the issue.

Can you do a log of the failing process on Linux, then on Windows using the same steps and send us these? As @rainer.voigt said, some images from both systems would also help us grasp the situation.

Best,
Bernhard
