I am using an Ensenso C57 camera, and when visualizing images in NxView, I get the following warning:
PoE supply not sufficient for current capture setup. Flash brightness might be reduced during flashing due to supply voltage drops. Please decrease flash brightness or exposure to achieve consistent flashes. Minimum voltage was 14.8.
This happens, for example, when I set the projector to 100%.
To power the camera, we are using a PoE++ switch that provides 90W, as indicated in your documentation: Power Supply for C Series Cameras.
Despite this setup, the warning persists.
Does this warning indicate that our power supply is insufficient even with a 90W PoE++?
Any clarification on whether our setup is adequate or if further adjustments are needed would be greatly appreciated.
the warning should basically just tell you that you would get more light output when using DC.
Actually the projector brightness should default to 0.33 when powering the camera up on a PoE supply. If you manually increase the value, the flashing will start with full power, until internal buffering is emptied after approximately 1.5ms. Then the flash will drop down to 33% power.
This is in general not an issue, it simply means that the output power varies over the time of the exposure. When decreasing the brightness or exposure time (or applying more analog gain, which in turn reduces exposure), the warning should disappear. If you ultimately need more light output for large scenes, you might consider using DC power instead.
Anyway I noticed that we need to describe this behavior in the manual somewhere. We will update this with the next bugfix release.

and one more point to this:
When you use the camera with DC supply in NxView first, it will safe the 100% output power to last settings file for this camera and reapply it after opening. This is maybe how you got there. If the camera has freshly powered up and you open it with the ‘Load Cached Settings’ checkbox cleared, you should see the 0.33 default value on PoE again.
