Difference in working distance between B57-4 monochrome and B57-4 color

Hi Ensenso Team,

Comparing the working distance of B57-4 monochrome and B57-4 color, the difference is as follows. Is this correct?

B57-4-BL Monochrome WD 210mm - 2000mm

B57-4-GL Color WD 210mm - 800mm

I assumed that the only difference between the two is whether it is color or monochrome, and the other specifications are the same.

Hi,

the version with the color sensor does not have a filter for the projector light and is therefore more influenced by ambient light. That’s why we limit the maximum operating distance for those model to 800mm. We assume that the projector will not be visible clearly if you go further away than that, but of course that depends on whether there is much ambient light or not.

Note that even though the -BL version might be able to produce data at longer distances, its accuracy will decrease a lot due to the small baseline. You can see this in the z-accuracy listed by the selector.
