Do you have frame rate estimation table for the B57 model series?
We are looking to determine the required system configuration to perform a full 3D capture and point cloud reconstruction in under 1 second. (GPU vs CPU; ROI size; Flexview…)
For context, the target samples are painted metal parts in various colors.
Given the frame rate constraint, would you recommend switching to the N46 series instead, considering that color capture is not a requirement for this project?
we do not have official frame rate or performance measurements, because the achievable frame rate depends on the user’s system configuration and the quality requirements they have.
In our manual we have listed the system requirements, which may help you to get started determining the system configuration. We also provide an overview of our general series features, which compares various product aspects like sensor size and camera price.
Can you tell us a little bit about your quality requirements? The desired frame rate should be achievable. The question is - which trade-offs you are willing to accept? Whether we would recommend an N46, which provides less resolution and no option to capture color compared to the B57, also depends on these quality requirements.
Just from the information we have, I would suggest to use the B57-12/700-BL or if you want to use a N46, the model N46-804-16-BL.
To decide which of the cameras is the better fit, you have to consider a few things. One aspect is the pixel resoultion. As you can see in our camera selector (Ensenso Scout), the pixel size of the B57 is almost half compared to the N46. This means, that you would get much higher resolution in the x and y plane. Also the precision (z-accuracy) is better with the B-Series.
But due to the higher resolution with the B-Series, there is also more data to transfer, which takes a bit more time.
To consider all aspects and make the best choice for your project, I would recommend to have a small chat about it. Let me know, what time would work for you, here is my mail address: franka.ludig@optonic.com
