Adjustable Focus for N4 Series?

Hi everyone,

I’m curious about the focus settings on the N4 series cameras. Can the focus be adjusted by the end-user? If so, I’d like to know more about the adjustment process.

Your expertise on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks, Emmanuel

Hi Emmanuel

if the customer is experienced in dealing with mechanics he will be likely able to manage refocusing. The steps would be as follows:

  • You can open the housing with the 4 screws on the backside and remove the front cover.
  • After removing the front you will be able to open the lens lucking nuts and adjust the lens focus by turning them.
  • NxView can actually guide the focusing process in the calibration wizard (select “full setup” instead of “calibration only” at the beginning) by looking at a calibration pattern at the focus distance
  • At the end you need to re-mount the front part
  • and finally recalibrate the device using a calibration pattern

If you never did the whole procedure you should reserve at least an hour for it. Later it can be a lot faster.

Kevin wrote a guide how to calibrate N3x-Series. Seems I can’t upload it here. I’ll share it with Emmanual internally.

@ids-ensenso My apologies, I meant the N46-601-16-IR specifically.
